Abilities that Characters can choose during character progression

Dragon Taming Savant

Passive Ability

A Character with this ability adds 1 Bonus Focus to all Checks to increase their Dragon's Taming Level.

Charge Strike

Active Ability: Instant Action, 1 Target

A character with this ability specializes in charging into enemies and dealing massive amounts of damage. If they have moved at least 5m before making a Melee attack, they make the attack with 1 Bonus Focus.

Elusive Flyer

Active Ability: Instant Free Action

A Character with this ability can move into and out of combat with great agility. As a Free Action, a character with this ability can move up to 5m after making an Attack. This movement does not provoke any Reactions from hostile characters.

Sunstrike

Active Ability: Instant Action, 1 Target, Attack Range

A Character with this ability can strike from above, relying on the blinding light of the sun to leave their enemies flat-footed. A character using this ability strikes from a source of bright light, forcing thier target to roll a Save:

  • 5 or Below: The target suffers Surprise

  • 6-15: Attack with 1 Bonus Focus

  • 16 or Above: The attack is performed normally

Draconic Fury

Active Ability: Free Action, Self, 5 Turns

A Character with this ability can act with rage and recklessness. When a character with this ability makes an Attack action, they do so with 1 Bonus Focus. All attacks against them are made with 1 Bonus Focus.

An enraged character cannot be Afraid and rolls all saves with 2 Bonus Focus.

Repelling Wing Assault

Active Ability: Instant Action, 3m Radius (Self), 1 Focus

A Character with this ability can command their Dragon to buffet the air with its wings. All Characters within a 3m radius must make a Save:

  • 5 or Below: Character takes 4 Wind Damage and is knocked Prone

  • 6-14: Character takes 2 Wind Damage and is knocked back 2m.

  • 15 or Above: Character takes no damage

Ground Shatter Strike

Active Ability: Instant Action, 2m Radius, 1 Focus

A Character with this ability can command their Dragon to dive at the ground, shattering the earth below their feet and Incapacitating their enemies. All characters within a 2m radius must make a Save:

  • 6 or Below: Character takes 3 Bludgeoning Damage and is Incapacitated

  • 7-17: Character takes 1 Bludgeoning Damage is is knocked Prone

  • 18+ Character takes 1 Bludgeoning Damage

Overheated Atmosphere

Passive Ability, 2m Radius

A Character with this ability has developed a technique to increase the body temperature of their Dragon Mount to extreme levels. All characters starting their turn within 2m of the Dragon takes 1 Fire Damage. This damage is True Damage and cannot be resisted or avoided.
