If the Dragon dies and is resurrected, it will be hostile to its rider.
Eventually, a Dragon can be tamed to the point where it is not actively attempting to throw, or even kill, its rider. A dragon that has been tamed to this level causes the following effects:

When a Dragon takes damage in combat, they roll a Save:

If the Dragon dies and is resurrected, its training reverts to Unruly Companion.

A Dragon tamed to this level gains all of the benefits of Supreme Connection as well as the following effects:
If the Dragon's rider dies, the Dragon can capture the departing soul, keeping it safe. As an Action the Dragon can manifest the rider's new body, bringing its rider back at full Health and Focus. It cannot use this ability again until it completes a Rest.

Active Action: Instant Free Action, 1 Target, 2 Focus
Being swallowed by a Dragon is oftentimes not the end of its prey's suffering. Dragon throats are studded with razor sharp teeth to further shred and trap food for better digestion. A Dragon with this ability can choose to consume a target that has been successfully targeted by the Grapple ability. When this occurs, the target is swallowed and must Save in order to escape the Dragon's throat:
3 or Below: The target takes 5 Slashing Damage.
13-16: The target takes 3 Slashing Damage
17 or Above: The target takes 5 Slashing Damage and escapes the Dragon's Throat
Additionally, a dragon that chooses to use its Dragon's Breath ability automatically spits out any character that it has consumed. Characters spit out in this manner must still roll the Save for Dragon's Breath.
Characters that have been Consumed can still attack and use abilities as long as usual. Attacks and abilities performed in this manner are performed with 1 Bonus Focus. The Dragon rolls all Saves to avoid damage from abilities targeting an Area with 2 Penalty.
Passive Ability
The first thing that any new Dragon Rider learns is the ability to control, and ride, their Dragon. A Character with this ability can command their Dragon to act on its turn which immediately follows the Character's turn. The Dragon has its own Action, Free Action, and Reactions, as well as Health and Focus.
A Character that wishes to ride their Dragon can attempt to mount it as a Free Action by rolling a Check:
5 or Below: The Dragon bucks the character off, taking flight and acting Independently until the end of the Character's next turn.
6-12: The Dragon shakes off the character, preventing them from mounting.
13 or More: The Dragon allows the player to Mount it.
Once a character has mounted their dragon, they can move up to the Dragon's Fly or Walk speed in a turn. If they move in this way, the Dragon cannot move on its turn unless it takes the Move Action.
A mounted character can be knocked from their mount by an Attack, Effect, or Ability.
Active Ability: Reaction, 1 Focus
An adept Dragon Rider is capable of controlling their Dragon, dodging and weaving to avoid damage that would otherwise hurt them or their mount. When a Character or their Dragon is targeted by a Ranged Attack or an Area Ability, they can use a Reaction to roll a Check:
8 or Below: Take the full damage
9-20: Dodge the brunt of the damage. The Character and their Dragon become Resistant to the damage, if they were not already.
21 or Above: Dodge the incoming attack completely. The Character and their Dragon become Immune to the damage, if they were not already.
Active Ability, Instant Free Action, Target Friendly Dragon, 1 Turn Duration
A Dragon and its Rider eventually become so in-sync that they are capable of sharing their intentions, and Focus, in battle. A Character with this ability can choose to boost the focus of themselves or their Dragon mount. Characters can:
Transfer up 2 Focus from their own Focus Pool to their Dragon, granting it 1 Bonus Focus on its next roll for each Focus spent.
Transfer up to 2 Focus from their Dragon's Focus Pool to themselves, granting 1 Bonus Focus on their next roll for each Focus spent.
This Bonus Focus is lost at the start of the Character's next turn.
